Outlook is Unable to Seach OST Files (“We couldn’t find what you were looking for”)

Issue: When Outlook is in cached exchange mode, the search feature does not return any results and displays the error

“we couldn’t find what you were looking for”

I also found multiple errors in event viewer

“The content source <mapi: a bunch of #s] cannot be accessed.”

Solutions:

– Check the indexing options and ensure the location containing the OST is selected.  In many cases, %username%\appdata\ is omitted from the indexing selections, even if C:\ is ticked.

Rebuild the index
